OUR AHIMSA PRACTICE
Gita Nagari was founded on the ancient principle of ahimsa (nonviolence). As such, we opened the first and only certified slaughter-free dairy farm in North America. In everything we do we strive to maintain the highest standards in animal welfare, environmental justice, and personal integrity. Motivated by the need for change in this world, rather than simply being driven for profit, the products offered by our farm are not just commodity purchases but are investments in the transformation of our collective future.
OUR AHIMSA DAIRY
All of our ahimsa milk is A2 quality from our lifetime-protected Brown Swiss herd, nothing added and nothing subtracted. It is not raw, as State Regulations mandate pasteurization, though we pasteurize using low heat (145 F), so the nutrient profile is very close to raw milk and the taste our milk is also comparable to raw milk. It is never homogenized.
For orders being shipped:
Please note that all orders placed by Saturday of each week will be shipped out the following Monday/Tuesday. This is to ensure that packages reach their destination prior to the weekend, thus avoiding delays. All packages are shipped with ice packs in insulated boxes and tracking info is sent to the email given during ordering. Gita Nagari is not responsible for any lost, damaged, or perished items.
We take exceptional care with our shipping material and keeping the products cool during transit. Gita Nagari Eco Farm & Sanctuary is not responsible for any damages or delays by UPS or USPS once they leave our facility, nor for delays in transit caused by high package volume, weather, mechanical error, strikes, natural disasters, terrorism safety control, local carrier miss-scans or inaccurate shipping information.
If your item has perished due to shipping delays or was damaged, we can assist with filing a claim on your behalf with the carrier (UPS or USPS), but it is up to the carrier how long a claim will take to process and whether or not they will issue a refund. Please be sure to take photos, as UPS requires at least 7 photos to file a claim. We cannot file a claim without photos.
In most cases our packages shipped via USPS Flat Rate Priority or standard UPS Delivery are delivered timely without any spoilage issues. However, the default shipping options mentioned above do not guarantee a delivery date. If you would like to opt for a guaranteed delivery date to insure against spoilage due to delays, please contact us for a quote on expedited, guaranteed delivery and we will be happy to upgrade your shipping method.

MILK SUBSCRIPTIONS
We currently have pickup locations* available to persons interested in enrolling for a Milk Subscription. Milk is delivered to the specific pickup locations on a weekly basis. You will then meet at the determined pickup location on the designated day/timeframe. The advantages of enrolled customers are that they are on are priority list, meaning they receive milk even in the event of low inventory. Milk subscribers also save on shipping costs.
